Brian Allen

Brian Allen, President, is the founder of Pension Consultants. Brian oversees operations in all departments of the company. In addition, he directs the development of new services and is the chairman of both the Investment Committee and ERISA Committee for the firm.

What we do, at its core, is give people the tools they need to help create a successful retirement plan. That’s incredibly gratifying, whether we’re working with a fiduciary of a major corporation or an individual who works for a small business. We work with an incredible group of clients. It’s humbling to have their trust, and we are honored to have the opportunity to prove we deserve it.

Following trends has never been part of Pension Consultants’ corporate culture. Brian Allen founded Pension Consultants in 1994 with the goal of providing high quality advice to retirement plan professionals and individuals. He aimed to reverse what he perceived as an industry trend towards lax standards and apathetic plan management, and to subvert the ubiquitous, but inherently biased, commission-based sales structure. By initiating a transparent, fee-based, pay-for-service structure, Brian established a truly independent advisement firm, one unlike any in the industry. The ideas that established Pension Consultants continue to distinguish the company, and to improve standards industry wide.

In true entrepreneurial form, Brian performed all of the company’s duties in its early days. However, as Pension Consultants grew from upstart to industry leader, he worked to build a team of well-credentialed, intensely dedicated professionals to support his company mission. Brian believes that Pension Consultants is unique among retirement advisement firms because of the breadth and depth of the expertise they offer, but also because he and his entire staff are driven to exceed client expectations, and meet needs they may not even be aware they have.

Pension Focus

Brian Allen began the Pension Focus conference in 1996 and has served as its Chairman since. Now among the nation’s most respected conferences addressing topics affecting employer sponsored retirement plans, Pension Focus is a natural extension of Pension Consultants’ mission to educate clients.

Community Involvement

Brian offers his leadership experience to several Springfield area organizations. He has served as president of the Downtown Springfield Association and The Kitchen, Inc. He is also active in his church. He prioritizes volunteer work because as a Christian, he believes he is called to imitate the goodness of his creator by helping others. He also enjoys learning from the varied leadership styles and perspectives of his fellow volunteers.
